Arcada's new master’s degree programme in Real Estate Management in English caters for today's demand for skilled people who can monitor, manage and develop both daily and long-term issues relating to real estate, so that a maximum return can be made of the invested capital.
Return on investment
The use and ownership of properties has specialized strongly over the last decade. This is a result of an increased need to get a better return on investments in both the short and long term. An adequate rate of return, in addition to normal business activities, cannot be achieved without sufficient expertise in real estate. As a consequence, this has led to the formation of specialized property investment companies. These companies require a wide range of know-how, one that has so far not been available in Finland. Arcada will fill this educational void with the new master’s degree programme.
Broad content
The educational content of the Arcada Real Estate Management programme will focus on the following main areas:
legislation, statutes and orders
guiding and managing real estate business
finance
environmental impact and life cycle
functionality, efficiency and utilization of areas
repair activities, technology and energy efficiency
Study while working
The extent of the degree is 90 credits, which requires approximately 2,400 hours of work from the student. The degree consists of courses worth 60 credits and a thesis project worth 30 credits. Teaching will take place partly as evening classes and the modules will be spread out, so that the degree can be completed in 2.5 to 3 years. These factors allow you to study toward the degree alongside your regular job.
