Plastics Technology at Arcada
The plastics industry in Finland is exciting and developing with over 15 000 people employed. Only 3 polytechnics / universities of applied science in Finland, however, give an education directly linked to this industry. Of these, only Arcada is located in the same region as about 2/3 of the respective companies. The plastics industry both follows and allows for new trends in consumer electronics, the construction industry and the packaging of products.
The degree programme in plastics technology at Arcada focuses on giving hands on skills to the student based on a sound theoretical foundation.
After graduation from the degree programme in plastics technology, the graduate will have a solid knowledge of both engineering and management. He/ She will be able to select and operate the most cost effective manufacturing methods for products. The graduate will also have detailed knowledge of the benefits and methods of incorporating plastics into industrial applications.
The student will have the opportunity to choose two free elective study modules in such areas as private entrepreneurship and innovations, business administration or language.
